Kymi Stadium is one of the principal sports facilities of the Municipality of Heraklion, Attica and a point of reference in the city’s sporting history. Located in the Kymi neighbourhood, from which it takes its name, the stadium has long been closely associated with the development of amateur sport — particularly football — within the local community. For decades, the stadium has served as a space for training, competition, and social interaction, hosting practice sessions and games for local sports clubs and academies. Beyond its sporting role, it has also functioned as a neighbourhood meeting point, contributing to the formation of a collective identity and sporting culture. Today, Kymi Stadium continues to serve the needs of the youth and sports clubs of Heraklion Attikis, forming part of the Municipality’s broader plan for the promotion of mass participation in sport, healthy living, and social cohesion. It serves as the home ground of the Municipal Academies of Heraklion Attica.
